5/23 & 24 Wooozy Offline #2: Bok Bok

WOOOZY OFFLINE #2: BOK BOK

 bokbok

After a special couple of nights with New York Transit Authority in April, we are super charged to follow up with something really a little bit special.  UK producer, DJ and label head Bok Bok is gracing China with turntable skills and his newly minted second solo EP in his bag! His tastemaker label – Night Slugs, a label-cum-collective that Spin Magazine proclaims  “has developed one of the most distinctive sounds in U.K. dance music, a mutable hybrid of grime, house, electro, R&B, techno, hip-hop, and dubstep.” is at the forefront of the latest renaissance in UK electronic music.
In true Wooozy style, the second session of Wooozy Offline brings China’s finest local talents to pair up with Bok Bok’s signature hyper-real sound across Beijing and Shanghai. For the Beijing stop, Wooozy join up with local electronic collaborative Do Hits. In Shanghai, catch local supports like DJ Sleepless, Damacha, Faded Ghost B2B Howell, and Misloop.
Bok Bok’s got some weighty recent collaborations under his belt as well: lead track ‘Melba’s Call’ features Kelela, who set the tabs alight with her debut last year. His new tunes still include nods toward Grime roots, but have developed a more rounded and funkier sound with Melba’s Call as the blueprint.
Come and join the party on May 23 at Dada in Beijing and on May 24 at The Shelter in Shanghai!
