This year’s installment of the JUE | Music + Art festival was a smash, culminating in the March 23 festival Wrap Party and Award Ceremony for the JUE NEXT GEN photography competition, presented by ospop.

JUE | Music + Art has teamed up with the fine folks behind Shanghai’s (China’s?) No. 1 art map to bring every art event to your fingertips. And what’s more, a copy of the map will even get you discounts on tickets to select festival gigs.

Born in Taiwan, Summer Lei’s father is the renowned Taiwanese writer and painter Lei Hsiang. Dubbed a “musical poet,” her lyrics, music and singing carry a unique poetic feel and employ evocative and stirring imagery…….

Many thanks for everyone’s patience of the long awaited ticket sales for Death Cab for Cutie’s performance in Shanghai and Beijing starting Monday, February 20.

This year, headlining musical acts for JUE include-Death Cab for Cutie and Summer Lei (雷光夏). With over 50 individual events in Beijing alone over the two-week period comprising the festival,JUE | Music + Art events range from acclaimed international and up-and-coming local musical performances, cutting-edge art exhibits, film screenings, children’s workshops, green initiatives and much more.

The JUE | Music + Art festival is back for 2012, and our signature event – the JUE NEXT GEN Photography Competition is going BIG. This time around, we’ve teamed up with China’s first work wear as fashion brand: ospop., to offer a Grand Prize of 10,000 RMB to the winning photographer, and 3,000 RMB to the Runner-up.

Also, we are proud to announce that Summer Lei will be performing in Beijing and Shanghai as part of JUE | Music + Art Festival 2012. Summer Lei, dubbed a “musical poet,” leads the new generation of Taiwanese indie-folk singers.

Split Works is delighted to announce that Grammy-nominated American indie band Death Cab for Cutie will be playing in Beijing and Shanghai for the 4th annual JUE | Music + Art festival. This will be the Bellingham, WA quartet’s first time performing in China.

Side Effect played their first overseas concert last month in Bali, Indonesia, as part of the three-week ASEAN Fair 2011 music festival, which ends on November 23.These guys are super great musicians and deserve the chance to get their music heard by a wider audience.
