We are based in China and we influence people. We must use this position to influence people positively. We take great pride in working with the best people we can find, people at the heart of trying to make this country a better place for everyone.
What happens in China will affect greatly what happens to the world in the coming years. We hope that the change will be characterised as change for the better. Please see evidence of our ongoing work here:
#Environment
At our events we publicly encourage recycling, environmental messaging, and provide financial help to the Roots and Shoots foundation.
#Migrant workers
We took one of our visiting USA talents, Ozomatli, to visit Daxing, a migrant worker community in the South West of Beijing. The 175m strong migrant worker population is one of China’s most pressing problems. We played to 600 children at the community’s school. It was an incredible experience. In 2008, we will be supporting Spiritual Home, an NGO committed to helping to resolve this problem.
#Cultural development
We create events with diverse talents, both Chinese and foreign, and a variety of music styles. We feel this encourages intercultural communication and educates audiences about different cultural expressions. We support local independent acts that deserve a larger stage.
#Masterclasses
We have organised free masterclasses for Chinese enthusiasts to learn from the artists we bring through.
#Yanji MC’s
We flew 3 talented beatboxers down from Yanji on the North Korean borders to play with the UK’s best, Killa Kela. They had never left Yanji, more or less played to mixed Chinese and foreign audiences of 1,000’s in Shanghai and Beijing. KK was their alltime hero. The smiles on their faces when they met was what makes this business all worthwhile.
